ColorStack NJIT is a chapter of ColorStack, the national nonprofit behind this movement. Here's its story.
2020
ColorStack Founded
Jehron Petty founded ColorStack in May 2020, days after graduating Cornell with a computer science degree; Building on Underrepresented Minorities in Computing (URMC), the campus club he co-led with Rami Abdou.
2020
Triplebyte Partnership
Technical recruiting platform Triplebyte agreed to incubate ColorStack and fund its operations for at least two years. The community had grown to roughly 600 students across multiple schools.
2021
1,000+ Members, Major Sponsors
Membership passed 1,000 students and the org raised over $1M from corporate sponsors and investors. Microsoft and Netflix signed on as sponsors of the first Stacked Up Summit.
